We really enjoyed this tour! As we walked from Union Station across the park, the guide told us about the various statues, memorials and areas with personal narratives that helped in our understanding. The Library of Congress was quite spectacular but we were only there for 5 minutes, so we returned later. I think the time there should be increased, perhaps with a small group tour. The Capital tour was very good, although that guide didn't know who Billy Graham was and actually said he was some important guy from the 80's! Maybe suggest the guides do a little research on whoever they're talking about. Overall, we would highly recommend this tour for the information, walking and seeing that was involved.
The tour started nearly an hour too late, because the guide did not show up. After that we were informed, that the tour will not last 2.5 hrs as supposed and mentioned in the description. Actually the walking tour itself lasts for 2.5 hrs and it is definitely not worth to participate. After that you'll be able to visit the Capitol building without the guide. So alltogether including the Capitol the tour lasts much longer, which is a problem for people who have to meet their deadlines like train or plane schedules.
Apart from this the tour is completely worthless if you register early enough for free docent-guided tours at Capitol. So don't waste your time and money with tis tour!
It was convenient to have the tour guide pick up the tickets. But the tour in the Capitol was conducted by the docent, who was terrific. Our guide took us through the tunnel to the Library of Congress, then to the front of the Supreme Court.
We probably could have picked up the tickets ourselves
