Our tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable. She did the utmost to make sure we saw everything on the tour even though the areas were very crowded, although I'm sure the crowds are worse during the summer months!
We had a great tour of the Palace of Versailles. Our guide, Audrey, spoke clearly and was very well-informed about the history of Versailles. She kept our interest all the way through, Know that Versailles is a popular place to visit and at times, the crowds were very thick and it was hard to move. That being said, I would do it all over again!
This was my second time visiting Versailles and my first time utilizing a tour of any kind. The skip-the-line service was very helpful. My previous visit to Versailles, I waited over two hours in line just to purchase tickets. With the skip-the-line option, our tour guide had our tickets for us and we were able to go right in. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgable. At the time of booking, we were able to select a guide who spoke English. This was helpful, considering our French is very limited. I had two teenagers on the tour with me. They had lots of questions that our tour guide easily answered. All in all, a great tour. I would recommend it highly.
Our guide Isabelle was wonderful and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND skipping the line at Versailles...that line is no joke and could really put a damper on your day at the palace. Isabelle was fun, organized, and knowledgeable!
My only suggestion would be to meet closer to the entrance. It was a long walk from where we met the guide to get over to the palace. Tour guide was good, and providing individual headphones was perfect. Would recommend.
In general we enjoy these tours. On this tour our guide should have checked microphone devices prior to leaving the tour office. Many of the guests equipment did not work which caused delays and people not being able to hear. Also, guide was not that knowledgeable about Versailles and its history apart from the memorized script.
