This was a great way to see Venice and get an overall introduction to the city. Our guide provided a pleasant mix of history and contemporary tidbits to satisfy everyone in our group. The water taxi and guide were just about decadent! All of our questions were entertained graciously. We took the early evening tour and found it a very relaxing and entertaining way to end the day.
We chose this tour versus a gondola ride and were glad we did. Much of the Grand Canal is difficult to see from the streets, it needs to be viewed from the water. Our guide Jennifer was fabulous, pointing out a mixture of history, architecture and pop culture celebrity apartments, film locations, etc. I highly recommend.
Being on a boat was a nice break after walking around the city all day long. The views are nice, but nothing breathtaking. I would recommend sitting outside on the deck, on one of the seats next to an open window so you can listen to the tour information using the phone receivers.
