My mother and I usually do a hop on hop off tour when we travel throughout Europe as she has difficulty in walking long distance. Also, this is the ideal way of seeing the highlights of a city without having to figure out the local transportation. The only complaint was the wait on first stop for those that had to purchase their tickets. It is a convenient and economical way to see everything on your wish list.
We arrived on a cruise ship and when we went to get on the bus at the crusie ship terminal they told us we needed to buy another pass (we were unaware of this) to get from the cruise ship to Stockholm but they couldn't take our money because of an arrangement with the cruise ship. So we would have been out of luck or had to take a taxi for $150 to get to Stockholm. We argued our way on to the bus and it was the same on the return trip - had to argue to get a ride and not be abandoned in Stockholm. In Stockholm there were not enough buses with huge lines waiting at each stop. The Boat to ride was short and just toured around the small bay. The Canal and Bridges water tour would have been a better choice but we did not know about it as an option.
This was ok. Bus pick up right at cruise pier. Had trouble finding boat dock after museum visit . Boat ride not narrated but interesting. .touring on our own was fine as we took in the square with lunch, shopping etc
Really enjoyed the flexibility of using many of the hop-on / hop-off buses. The audio during the various trips was informative and timely. There was one bus of several that we used that had issues with the audio but all the others were excellent.
Red bus Hop on Hop Off is not on time to pick up the passengers. We missed our shuttle bus returning to the cruise ship. We waited more than 1 hour from the pick up point after taking the boat ride before the bus arrived. We have to take a taxi so we won't miss our cruise ship. The red bus is really notorious of always being late. I will not recommend this Red Bus Hop on Hop Off.
Tour was a great overview of the city. It was a little inconvenient to find the stops from the metro because we were staying near the airport, but two very accommodating drivers helped us find our way. Would definitely recommend for an easy tour of the city and highlights!
We wasted so much time trying to find a Tour Bus Stop that we had no time left for the included boat tour. All the buses went to the 2 cruise ports and that cut into our time even further. No, I will not recommend this Hop-On Hop-Off Tour.
We did the 72 hr. pass and really enjoyed the flexibility that gave us. It was confusing to figure out where the stops were at times there are more than one company and you have to sort that out. Because of all the construction being done, the stop we were searching for had been moved and that wasn't reflected on the website. But otherwise, the commentary was good and we especially appreciated the boat tour! It's a very good way to go!
