Voucher only give you a number so you need to call the place and we walk to People's park from Nanji Road line 10 to find the actual location where you need to trade the voucher. Turns out there is much nearer metro to the place and we are not informed.overall we are able to do tunnel and jin mao without issues, i just hope you not need to exchange anymore and use the actual voucher
Hop on, Hop off bus tours are generally quite similar, this Shanghai edition was below par though. It was originally run by the well known Big Bus Company, but has been taken over at some stage as a local/government project. On multiple buses I noticed issues with the GPS sync on the audio tracks sometimes a clip would begin and suddenly be cut off by another one beginning, most of the time the commentary was also late which meant it would be describing something you've already passed or more annoyingly advising of an upcoming stop after the bus has set off again. Also the commentary is a bit outdated, referring to various completed projects as being in progress or set for completion in 2012 for example, there's also a thank you from Big Bus at the end of the circuits. There's no clear timetable or indication of bus frequency, my impression was that they seem to run at roughly 30 minute intervals but it's hard to tell - staff at major stops were friendly and tried to be helpful, but I suspect were mostly guessing at the next bus details to be fair, traffic makes things a bit unpredictable. With all that said, if you keep your wits about you with regards to the stops you want to get off, the service works perfectly well for the basic hop on hop off function and getting around the city. I can't say I loved Shanghai personally, but the bus does get you to a good number of interesting and impressive places. Worth doing if you're a fan of this kind of tour, just don't expect it to be quite as easy as in other cities. Try to get to the People's Square stop first easy by subway as this was the only place where they'd check vouchers and give you the proper tickets and map etc, also the only place to reliably find out when the next bus is due.
This ticket made it so easy to get around Shanghai and see all of the sights!! The sightseeing tunnel was maybe the only part that I was disappointed with. The Huangpu River Cruise was great, and although I wouldn't have chosen to do the Jin Mao Tower observation if it wasn't included with my 2-day pass, I'm glad to have done it, even on a overcast day. It must be spectacular on a clear, sunny day!! Very convenient and easy to use!! :
This would have been a great way to get around the city, but the bus drivers were fighting, they drove terribly (I think that may be how you drive in Shanggai but they were worse than taxi drivers) they chuckled and laughed at us when they gave us our original tickets. Should’ve bkd a pvt tour.
