We cannot recommend this tour. We were just disappointed that we as a family had paid a lot of money for nothing in fact. We were picked up at our hotel by a local guide whose English was not very good. Our first stop was Gwangjang market, a traditional very interesting Seoul street food market. Since the tour promised sampling and tasting real street food, we were already looking forward to this experience. But the guide just lead us around by showing the different kinds of food - without tasting any of it. After that we were just driven around in his car: first stop was the historic Deoksugung Palace where we were dropped off and told to walk about for 20 minutes, then we headed to Cheonggyecheon stream where we were dropped off again and told to stroll down the stream for a while. After being picked up again the guide recognized that we were hungry and drove us back to Gwangjang Market where he bought two pancakes for three adults! Korean street food is not expensive and for 85 per person so a total of 255 for the evening we had expected a little bit more. Our last stop was Dongdaemun Design Plaza where again we were dropped off and told to walk about on our own for 20 minutes. There are other tours - like the chicken and beer tour or the Seoul Food Tour with lunch at a traditional market and a local Korean BBQ dinner - that are far more interesting, entertaining and fun.
Deoksugung Palace, and the Dongdaemun Design Plaza.
