Luca was a wonderful guide and provided us with a most enjoyable day. I would recommend this excursion even without the limoncello tasting.

On this 12 1/2 hour excursion we only got to spend 20 minutes in Positano (not really enough time to go to the restroom and get food after riding the train and bus for over 5 hours). Then on to Amalfi for only 2 hours. You have to climb over 250 steps to do the limoncello tasting. Then on to public transportation again. So we had 10 hours of transportation and less than 2 1/2 hours in the very crowded ports.

This activity is a must!! You have to see the Amalfi coast when you are in Italy. There is a lot of beautiful views and places for amazing pictures. Our tour guide Anna was very nice and she is very knowledgeable. The cruise ride was very nice. Be ready to go up 200 steps for the limoncello tasting, it’s not as bad as it sounds thou! This activity was one of the best we did in Italy.

We had a great trip with Luca from Rome to Amalfi. He is one of the best tour guides we've ever had. He was very organized and effective in shepherding a group of about 14 people by train, bus, and boat. We started from Rome on a high speed train to Naples, where we boarded a van and drove the gorgeous Amalfi coast from Sorrento to Amalfi. We stopped in Positano for lunch and a visit to shops and the beach, where we sampled a serving of the local Delizia di Limone- recommended by Luca and very yummy! We then drove to Amalfi where we walked up many steps to a Limoncello farm for free samples and lemon cake. We then took a ferry to Salerno where we boarded the high speed train for Rome. A final touch was when Luca purchased wine, cheese, and olives for a delicious snack on the train ride to Rome.

Took this trip on a Saturday in July 2018 from Rome to Amalfi. The weather was perfect and so was the entire day. The train from Rome to Naples in easy, the bus ride form Naples to Positano was very scenic. The amount of time spent in the towns was perfect, not too long and not too short. We had time to do as we want and never felt rushed. The hike up the lemon farm was worth it as it provided a beautiful view down to the town of Amalfi and out to the sea. The little snacks we had on the train ride back to Rome was a beautiful touch!

My boyfriend and I took this day trip together! We started the day walking to the train station together and ended up finding our group very easily - the train ride to Naples was quick and fun we really met a lot of great people on this trip. From Naples we took a bus ride to Positano - we passed by Pompeii and learned so much. The road leading to Positano was so narrow and fun. That town was so amazing! So beautiful and lively - We got there around 10:30am and the only thing that stunk was that the lunch places were not open until 12 and we were starving even after eating breakfast! We highly suggest staying away from restaurants thar serve

What an amazing tour! This was our first trip to Italy, where we rented an apartment in Rome for the week, and spent one full day in Amalfi on this tour. If I had it to do all over again, I would have spent one day in Rome and the rest of the week in Positano and Amalfi, it was such a beautiful place! Our tour guide Luca was great. He met us at the Termini train station in Rome and was very friendly, knowledgeable, and organized. The tour group was small maybe 8-10 people total, so it still had a very intimate and personal feel to it. The high speed train took us from Rome to Naples in a little over an hour. The train ride was comfortable and scenic. From Naples, Luca directed us to a van that took us to Sorrento. Our driver was great and handled the curvy, winding roads like a pro. Along the way Luca pointed out many interesting sights and facts, such as Mt Vesuvius, the island of Capri, and interesting facts about all the olive and lemon trees along the way. Once we arrived in Positano, we had about 2 hours to roam around town on our own. Positano was absolutely amazing, with lots of great restaurants, shops, and local charm. We had a terrific lunch here based on Luca's recommendation, and every picture looks post card perfect.
From Positano, Luca boarded our group onto a boat/ferry that took us to Amalfi. It was a very unique vantage point to view Positano and all the coastal towns along the way. In Amalfi, we climbed to the top of a cliff to visit a lemon tree farm. It was quite a hike climbing all the steep steps but well worth the visit and the views. There was a lady in our group that was in her mid/late 60's that was able to make the climb, so don't let the steep terrain intimidate you. Once at the top, we met the family that owns the lemon tree farm, and they explained to us how their farm works and how important lemons are to the local economy. The lemons can weigh up to 5 pounds each, and the lemon peel is sweet instead of bitter, so you can actually eat the lemon peel! We were given fresh lemons, lemon water, limoncello, and lemon cake to sample, all of which were delicious. The views of Amalfi from the top of the lemon tree farm are spectacular. After the lemon tree farm, we still had about 45 minutes to explore the town on our own. You also had the choice to skip the lemon tree farm and just spend all of your time in the town on your own, but we enjoyed the lemon tree farm experience. Amalfi has a lot of great shops hint-buy some lemon infused olive oil to take home with you wish I had bought more!. My wife had a pair of sandals custom made for her while we waited. Lots of great restaurants as well the best seafood I have ever had.
From Amalfi, Luca boarded our group onto another ferry that took us to Salerno, where we had another 45 minutes of free time. In Salerno, we found a little café and had coffee and fresh sfogliatelle, which is a delicious flaky pastry that is very popular in this area. Luca also pointed out a local shop that sold a unique type of high quality pasta that is not easily found in the USA, so we bought some to take home with us. We boarded the high speed train in Salerno and had a relaxing ride back to Rome. Luca had purchased some buffalo mozzarella cheese, wine, and olives for all of our group to snack on during the train ride back to Rome. Once back at Termini Station, Luca was kind enough to direct my wife and I to the correct metro platform so that we could safely return to our rental apartment. I would highly recommend this tour, the Amalfi coast was the highlight of our trip to Italy!

Positano is amazing coast town but you only get about an hour to explore. Wish for longer time. Limoncello tasting was disappointing you climb 210 steps get this gorgeous view of Amalfi, but don't even get a full shot glass of limoncello! You get a sliver in a plastic shot glass. They do provide a piece of lemon cake and a pitcher of lemon water per table. Tour name was Limoncello Tasting I expected Andre of a tasting. Maybe change the name to lemon farm tour. If you do this tour opt for the free time in Amalfi over the tasting it will give you a better memory

Guides were great. Well organized and knowledgeable of the places and things to see.
