Great tour with extremely knowledgable guide with excellent English to assist us in understanding.spoilt a little by most of the tourists who decided to take off early as they were a tad older and struggled with the 4 hour tour. Food / wine and beer was great
Fantastic history lesson of the ghetto area albeit a small part of Rome
The tour begins near the jewish ghetto and is a small group so you do not feel overwhelmed. Our guide was very friendly and the tour was 50/50 historical vs food sightseeing. The portions of both wine/beer and food were very generous and our group wasn't able to finish the food on a lot of the stops. I would very highly recommend this, there is a lot of walking if you are wary of that. I wish we could have done the food tour on our first day in Rome so we could have backtracked to visit some of the places again, which we did our last few days in Rome
Roberto was an engaging, entertaining, educational and thoughtful tour guide through the Jewish Ghetto. His commentary on the various sites included historical and present-day observations. We got a layered and nuanced look at the district and Rome's complex history. He was patient, encouraged questions and has a great sense of humor. We didn't have to wait too long for the food and for some of us the first stop -- for friend artichokes -- was a key highlight. In fact, our party of four returned the next day to indulge in more of the artichoke treat and we encountered another group of four from our previous night's tour doing the same thing! The choice of food and wine stops introduced us to a wide variety of Rome's specialties. After the artichokes, we sampled two varieties of pizza, a wide selection of antipasti, and then we headed to the pasta course in a charming spot with artifacts from early Rome incorporated into our dining room. By the end we were stuffed with history, great food and memories of a delightful evening in Rome. We highly recommend this tour!
Lots of Fun! Recommended for everyone Foodie or not ! Our guide, Roberto, expertly combined history and stories with the walking tour of wonderful food stops. Eggplant Parmesan, tiramisu stop and Sant Eustachio coffee were standout treats. Walking pace and specific stops were flexible to fit the group. Bring a light jacket for an evening tour mid-May 2018.
This was our favorite tour our entire trip to Italy. You must ask for Roberto. He was the best guide. The food is amazing-what you envision when you hear people talk about how spectacular Italian food is in Italy! This tour is a must. Worth every penny! Roberto is the absolute best guide we could have asked for!
Absolutley a do not miss while you are in Rome! Our tour guide was Roberto and I can not say enough great things about him! He really knows and loves this city! The food was amazing! The history was fantastic! This tour is just long enough to enjoy the food and meet the others in your group!
Took the tour on a Saturday evening and it was brilliant! Being February we were hoping it would not be too busy but there was only one other couple and we had a great time. Giorgio was our guide but Roberto was going solo from the following day so this was his last tour with a mentor. Both of them were very knowledgeable about the area and the food and spoke excellent English and with two guides and two couples only it was like a personal tour. The tour consists of a walking tour of about four hours duration with many food stops. Both guides knowledge of the area and its history was excellent and they both had a great sense of humour. The main reason we did the tour was to get off the main tourist path try and experience some of the local food and we were not disappointed. Not sure if the stops vary but we had seven stops I wont give too much detail to spoil the surprise with the first two being for street food, then two different restaurants, then three street stops for desserts and coffee. The food at every stop was very good and wine was included at the restaurants. I would thoroughly recommend this tour!!
