It was a track to pick up the tickets at the terminal, nearest pick up to our hotel but the staff were very helpful and guided us on what to do next. The bus was very popular so busy. It was a good way to go round Rome and take it all in - beautiful. Lucky we went to the Vatican first as that was easy to collect our tickets. However, whilst walking in St Peters we were asked various times but this gentleman took us to exchange our ticket for a ticket with guide and entrance to all three, which was excellent as the guide knew where he was going and guided us through it all. We paid an extra 20 Euros plus 10 Euros for ear guide which on returning the equipment you had your 10 Euros back. The guide was fantastic with his knowledge and we really enjoyed our experience.
The coliseum however was not so good. We queued for over an hour to collect our tickets in the heat!! then decided to have a guide which would have saved the queue!!! So glad we did as having a knowledgeable person to follow makes it much easier. The guide in the coliseum was excellent we paid extra 15 Euros for this plus we were shown around palatine hill which was not included in original purchase. We had a different guide, who was excellent again. I don't know if we saved by doing it like this, or if we had just gone and asked for guide there are plenty of people asking you do this
The public transport on this card was excellent, we used buses, trains, trams, metro. We did a lot with our card. But life was so much easier having a guide than just walking not knowing what you were doing. Its too hot for that
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Hop on Hop off buses. I would like to suggest that you are able to turn your voucher in for your Skip the Line passes BEFORE actually boarding the bus. We took a taxi from the airport to the Colleseum because we knew we would be spending a few hours there. The guide at the stop stated we needed to wait until we boarded to turn in the voucher for a ticket. We ended up paying for 2 of us to go through the Colleseum which we had included in the passes that we purchased. All in all a great value for touring any city. Some buses did not have the windows on top that you could open, and it the heat of the day, making it very hot. I would also like to see them add the statement that the Vatican stop is approx a 1 mile walk from the drop off station and also that where you exit the Vatican is not where you drop your bags no backpacks allowed, so we had to taxi around to the other side in order to get our bags before they closed. That was approx a 1.5 mile walk had we not taken the taxi. I would suggest doing the Vatican stop 1st and early in your day. Our taxi driver told us the mornings were the worst time, but we went at 1400 and it was like herding cattle through there with groups and individuals. You had little time to stop and enjoy going through and viewing the Sistine Chapel. I would also suggest more than a 24 hour pass, if you are going to be there more than 1 day, in order to enjoy it. We were only in Rome for the day, so we had to cram as much as we could. The tour bus drivers were on time at stops, we never had to wait past when the stop time was, the bus was clean and no one felt rushed when getting off the bus. I would like to see better organization when onboarding as there were stops with lines of people trying to get on and then when it was cleared to board, everyone rushed the bus. Great company, would recommend and definitely will be using them when we go back. Thanks for a wonderful trip.
Leider sehr kompliziert.
It was only the start of Summer when we visited a few weeks ago, and it was very humid. We printed our tickets out and had to change them over on our first bus trip. Once you get on your first bus, your 24/48hrs begins. The assistants on the bus were more than helpful, giving us a map showing where to collect each ticket. Each monument has a ticket vendor you need to visit and change your receipt to a ticket. The buses were also convenient, being a short walk away from each historical place. I would suggest taking an umbrella as some buses have no shade, making it extremely warm going from place to place. The Colosseum was absolutely amazing, Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel took our breath away and the skip the line tickets were very much appreciated by my husband and I after walking around in the warm sticky heat. I would suggest finding a guide, as we walked through the Colosseum with very little idea of what we were looking at, but we did have the freedom to wander around at our own pace.
I regret buying this so much! It gave me more headache than convenience. The voucher/confirmation said we had to pick up the tickets at 3 places. We lost so much time looking for one of those places. The men working for Sightseeing Experience on the street keep sending us to wrong places. After an hour of looking one of those man told me we could pick up everything at the Hop on-Hop off bus!! We lost so much time. At the bus they gave us vouchersbut then we had the exchange that receipt voucher for another voucher at the one of the Visitors / Tickets offices of Sightseeing Experience and then they gave us another receipt which we had to exchange for the real tickets for the Vatican Museum. I think it was much and much easier and cheaper if we bought it there. I would never recommend this to anyone, because its too expensive and you have more work picking up and exchanging vouchers for vouchers.
