We arrived 25 minutes early in a light mist. I had my 85 year old father along. Asked if we could sit him onboard near entrance as he could not stand for 25 minutes and wanted him out of the rain. Told it was not possible. I stepped onboard and asked the lady on the boat same question when I was berated by the original guy for stepping onto the ship. Again asked for a chair for father and place out of mist. Got the chair but no place out of the rain.
The cruise was nice and the food was good. The first drink means a small shot of Czech liquor, not first drink you order-beware.
The crew onboard was warm and welcoming!
HOWEVER FIRST IMPRESSION Ruined the trip. Some day Karma will hopefully return to the guy at the ticket booth and he will understand the difficulties of the elderly
Its a one hour trip down and back up the Danube river at night with an excellent viewing of the sights of Budapest along the river. Easy to find, board and enjoy. Should be done after being in the city for a few days because there is no narration of what you are looking at.
Bus picked me up and delivered me to river boat. Food was OK, plentiful. Not really much to see but end of trip at the bridge with
night fireworks. When I got off the boat I assumed a bus would take be back, but not so. Had to taxi. Just average way to kill
a few hours.
The overall experience was OK and I would not recommend it. The boat was older and could have been better maintained. The dinner was fine, though more options would have been nice. The staff was pleasant but not overly helpful. The view was nice, but I feel like I enjoy the city tours more. Overall, the experience was just OK so I would recommend choosing another boat cruise option if that is something you are set on doing.
