This was a very fun and informative tour of the Montmartre district of Paris. Our guide was knowledgeable and had many family connections to different landmarks in the area, which gave our visit a very personal touch. From the history of the artists who lived in the area, to recommendations for restaurants and metro stops, he was full of information. Plus the stop along the way for some treats was a nice break. We highly recommend this tour to be able to check out some less touristy areas of Paris.
This tour was so much fun! It was interesting and amazing! Our tour guide, Romain, was amazing! He kept us interested by telling us stories about the art, making competitions to find the art first, and made us laugh the entire time! My entire family enjoyed it! I would definitely do it again and recommend it to anybody, even if you don’t like art.
We did this tour on Saturday 9th December 2017 in the morning on a clear cold sunny crisp day in Paris-ideal weather for exploring hidden and hitherto unknown parts of Montmartre. Our guide Laurent hope I've remembered that right, tall chap with beard! was charming, knowledgeable, clearly absolutely committed to sharing his beloved Paris with two old ladies! We learnt so much we didn't know about the Impressionists, the back streets and history of Montmartre away from the ghastly and overcrowded tourist hotspots and were very happy for the little additions we were shown like prize winning boulangeries and the finest patisseries! I cannot recommend this tour and this guide more highly. I will take it again next time I visit Paris, that's for sure.
This tour was a real highlight of our visit to Paris. Our guide was a real Parisian, very knowledgable and passionate of the art and the area and he was a pleasure to stroll the beautiful streets of Montmarte with and see some of the off-the-beaten-path highlights. We visited the Musee d'Orsay the next day without our guide, but it felt like he was still with us some of the time, as the stories he told us stayed with us when we saw the impressionist art, in its original form. The ticket got us past all the queues, which was really welcome on a rainy Sunday.
Adele did a wonderful job leading us through her Montmartre where we saw many ateliers of the important artists from the late 1800's as well as historical buildings, markers and statues - and local-preferred shops. She had good insight into tourists' interests and many quality suggestions. Beautiful day for a walk, nice group and easy access to Sacre Coeur. Musee d'Orsay ticket was as promised, easy entry.
