Yas, our guide was a fabulous host. Yas was wise in a very punctual start. The drive was smooth and fun to Giverny. He was knowledgeable and kind. Yas shared facts and an understanding of the Monet Life. Yas made all of us feel very comfortable, we could ask him questions with great ease. Yas also helped us with a few concerns in Paris.
This was an exceptional excursion because we were the first group to visit the gardens and Monet's home so I had the opportunity to get some awesome photos before the crowd of tourists arrived. Nicholas was our guide and he made sure we were well briefed on details and was very in tune to our group! A must do for sure!
wonderful Trip! More than I hoped for. The meeting point in Paris was easy to find nice to have a café to wait in after arriving early. Our guide was friendly and put all of us at ease and comfortable with each other. We stopped on a hilltop as we neared Giverny to get out and view the beautiful French countryside and meandering Seine River. We arrived at Monet's home and gardens just as it opened and before the river cruise crowds started pouring in, giving us an opportunity to view the gardens almost alone. Even in September, the gardens are in full bloom and gorgeous -- just like stepping into a Monet painting! Our visit was unrushed and relaxed, giving us all the time we wanted to stroll and stop and experience everything. Before leaving Giverny, our guide took us to the small church and churchyard where Money and his family are buried, and told us more about his life and family and the small town of Giverny. Really, a fantastic experience!
This was truly a wonderful tour- Nicholas could not have been more informative or more helpful. The gardens and home are just beautiful and it was the highlight of our Paris stay. So nice to get out into the beautiful countryside of Giverny, He was an excellent driver ,and as mentioned, a great source of general information. It was like spending the afternoon with a good friend!
Very good trip. Enjoyed the excursion to the small cemetery. Website wording does not make clear that the tour of the house is not guided. The guiding part was a flip chart presentation outside of town. Still enjoyed the tour despite large numbers of large tour groups that jam the paths and the house.
