Our driver was prompt, polite, and very knowledgable. Not having to wait for tickets was helpful. There was some mis-communication between our driver's office and Viator. Transportation is arranged for and paid to Viator, but provided by different contractors. We were given a pick up time when scheduling and via a confirming text of 8:00am - 8:20am.
Based on that, we elected to leave the ship at 7:45. Our driver called at 7:15 am to let us know he would pick us up at 7:30, as we had timed tickets for Pearl Harbor that were for 8am. I explained that time time we had confirmed was different than the information he had. I don't know what he had to do to fix the problem, but when we were loaded into his van at 8:25, he had tickets for us for 9:15 entry.
We had tried to book the same tour through the cruise ship and luckily it was booked out. Was told by a friend to try Viator and glad we did. On all accounts this tour was better, more professional and was much cheaper than that offered by the ship. The luxury transit van appeared brand new and the organisation of the tour was excellent. I would highly recommend this tour.
Our Oahu shore excursion was excellent. Our guide, Reuben met us at the ship in a brand new transit van that held about 10 people in total. He gave us a brief history on our way to the Arizona memorial and guided us through to the entrance. Our timed tickets were distributed. We had more than enough time to visit The Arizona, see the movies and stroll through the museum at leisure. Reuben was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We ended our visit with a Honolulu city tour pointing out sites of historic importance. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Honolulu.
We only had limited amount of time in Honolulu between our arrival at the airport and boarding our cruise, and this tour was perfect. We got to see a lot in a short time, with pick up and drop off at the cruise pier, and skip the line tickets highly recommended, as ticket sales at Pearl Harbor were cut off for day shortly after we arrived. Traffic was miserable, so I'm glad we didn't try to rent a car. If you have more time, definitely take a longer tour so you have more time to linger at the exhibits.
First of all the tour was overbooked and the tour guide had to hire another bus to accommodate the people for 10:30 tour. We had to walk two blocks to catch this Orange bus stopped on the main street. We were pushing a person in a wheel chair as well. I don't know about the 12:00 tour which we were originally scheduled for .We happened to be talking with friends on the 10:30 tour when they were told the buses were gone and their fate was up in the air. We then asked if we could get on the bus that was hired for them and we did.
The tour was very rushed as we had very little time to go through the museum before having to attend the movie and the boat to the memorial. After the memorial we had very little time to shop before having to return to the buses. Tour could have been a lot better.
Enjoyed the Pearl Harbor Tour very much.Tried booking through my cruise line but was put on a waiting list, since this was on my bucket list I searched for another way to see Pearl Harbor. Found it with Viator! The tour was less expensive than the cruise line. The tour group was small 12 people. The tour guide was very professional and knowledgable. Pearl Harbor was an awesome trip! Will use Viator again!
