The tour was pretty good. The guide, Kevin Fitzpatrick, was very knowledgeable and proficient at leading us around. He did very nicely relaying historical details to the group. And he was quite accommodating in getting the group in just the right spot for photos - both at the sites and on the ferries. It was a bit crowded at each location, but Kevin new the best method to get to where we needed to be. And he was pretty much all business - not really personable. He received a generous tip from us - which he earned. But perhaps some slight of hand ws involved. All in all very good.
There are iconic attractions around the world and then there are those you MUST see close up and personal. This was a well organised tour with a very enthusiastic guide who looked after us whilst at the statue and Ellis Island. The view of the Manhattan skyline from the pedestal is fantastic as is the view of the statue from close up. Ellis Island is well worth investing time to better understand how the immigrants were welcomed into the USA - fascinating history lesson. This has to be one of the tours you do when visiting New York.
Being a New Yorker I actually never had the chance to visit the liberty and Ellis islands. This was a wonderful experience! The tour guid Kevin was very knowledgeable, nice and professional. I learned a lot about the history of immigration and the Statue of Liberty and overal enjoyed the tour.
This tour was wonderful. The directions were clear and I was able to take the subway there myself. This was my first trip to NYC and Lady Liberty and Ellis Island were one of the main places I wanted to visit. The trip was well organised and well worth the fee. Our guide was Matt, who was great. He had knowledge and humor and enthusiasm, Which made the tour even more memorable.
My wife and I recently visited NY again for our anniversary. We've been to New York a number of times but never visited Ellis Island or the Statute of Liberty. I booked the guided tour because we wanted to learn about both special places and not just walk the sites. Matt was our guide. We had a small group so we were able to linger at different places and have Matt inform us of many unique facts and nuggets of insight. He was superb. With a theatrical background, Matt's tour was a performance as much as a delivery of information. He was especially informative in describing how the immigrants were processed on Ellis Island. Without him, I doubt we would have discerned a fraction of what we learned. We highly recommend this tour. It was well organized and I hope you're lucky enough to have Matt as your guide to these national treasures.
