It is the only way to enjoy New York's lights. We sailed from Pier 83 along the Husen River into Bay of New York and a long look at Lady Liberty in full Glory. We went up the EAST River and under a multitude of Bridges. Our wonderful live Narrator was informative and easy to listen to. His captivating voice was enchanting. Even though the night was frigid I sat out on the open rear deck and had a panoramic view undisturbed of the Manhattan shore and the surrounding islands and boroughs. You are away from the traffic and noise of the city and immersed in the beauty..
Lovely to see the sights at the perfect time of day, starting off during daylight, passing through sunset with the lady in the background, followed by the darkness with all the lights twinkling showing the skyline to the best. The guide we had, Tony, was very knowledgeable and very personable, passing on lots of information throughout the cruise
We have been to NYC many times, but this was the first time we have done a night harbor cruise. It put the whole city in perspective. The commentator on the cruise was also great--gave many facts and interesting details as he pointed out each portion of the massive city. We started our 4 day trip with the cruise, walked 10 miles daily, and ended going to the Top of the Rock on the last day. We literally covered NYC by land, sea and air.
