Our trip with captain Steve was very fun. You get to see some alligators, turtles, birds, raccoons and also some of the houses built inside the swamps were a handful of people live year round. The drive from new orleans does take about 45 minutes to an hour one way so make sure to consider at least 4 to 5 hours before planning any other activity.
This was a well organized tour that did not disapoint. Picked up and brought back to our hotel.
Tour guide was very informative and gave us great photo opportunitys. My husband whom is not
very fit had no problems.
My friends were visiting me in New Orleans and we were all interested in going on a swamp tour. The driver picked us up on time for the tour and actually gave us a ton of history of New Orleans and the surrounding area while we were driving over to Slidell. Once there the tour guide on the boat was also super knowledgable and always willing to answer all of our questions. Would recommend tour to others.
I would never have believed a swamp tour would provide memories to hold for a long time. Friends recommended the experience, and after having taken the tour we were absolutely glad we did. We expected to see a lot of plant life and water, but to see the homes and how people live along the river was very interesting. We did see the expected alligators, birds, and snakes: but feral hogs and racoons made it a very special and unforgettable tour.
Our boat captain and tour guide was a local guy - really knew the swamp and a lot of the local lore. Very informative, beautiful ride, very funny. We got to see snakes, gators, and got right up next to some feral hogs. Great trip, highly recommend it!
