In short, the best tour and tour guide we've encountered in years. From the Ninth Ward to The Garden District and many places in between, our driver/guide Wanda efficiently navigated rainy day metro traffic while never deviating from her flawless and extremely informative narration. The intimacy of an eight passenger van only added to our enjoyment. If you only take one guided tour in NOLA, make it this one. You won't regret your decision.
Our guide Wanda picked us up at our hotel just after 10. She was wonderful and had a wealth of info to share with us. There was a total of 9 on our tour and it really helped that Wanda had one of those headset microphones so we wouldn't miss a thing she was saying. Loved the stop in city park as well as the beautiful homes in the garden district. Drove past some of the areas affected by Hurr. Katrina and saw many of the markers showing just how high those water levels were. We even took some of Wanda's dining recommendations. New orleans cookery is outstanding! Such an informative tour that I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a good look at this great city.
Wonderful tour and fantastic experience! Teddy was so knowledgeable about this wonderful city and we're so glad we took the time to go on the tour. I highly recommend anyone traveling to New Orleans to take this tour. It's probably the best at the beginning of your stay so you can go back to the places that you'd like to explore more but we ended up taking the tour at the end of our stay and it totally helped round out our experience. We had a wonderful time! Thank you!!
If you are only in New Orleans this is a great way to get an overview of the area and to see the highlights the city has to offer. As it turned out, on the day we toured we were the only four on the bus...which made for a much more intimate and personal tour. As was advertised the smaller vehicle allowed us to go into areas and neighborhoods bigger vehicles cant get into. The driver was very knowledgeable and had a number of handouts to study on various people, events. That being said, it seemed he had a regimented agenda and our added questions seemed to throw him off a bit.
It was a good tour and I would recommend.
Half of our group did this tour. Loved it. Very informational and it was nice to get out of the Fr. Qtr. to see the rest of New Orleans, see some very interesting architecture, a lovely park, stop for coffee plus lots of history and finally understanding how and where the levees failed during Hurricane Katrina. Very glad we did this tour.
