This was a very enjoyable tour for myself, husband and 4 kids ages 18, 10, 8 and 7. Tour guides had a great sense of humor and provided us with lots of information. Each stop was fairly short but there was a lot to squeeze in. They had fun prizes for those of us that were paying attention to the information they provided us with. They also made sure we were back with no worries of the cruise ship leaving us.
Birdy made the trip fun and exciting. She was knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had. We even played trivia for fun prizes. Visiting the Rum distillery was the best. Don't skip out on the pina colada sample and you may even want to purchase a larger one at the bar at the end of the tour. We asked to be dropped off at the straw market and they had no problem doing that for us. Don't skip out on this tour!
This was my third trip to Nassau and my first excursion. There were 6 people in our group and it was wonderful! Sherrie and Javon were so patient and kind. Sherrie explained the history behind many historical and significance buildings. And explained the hardships Nassau residence face on a daily bases. Javon was our “bodyguard and photographer.” He ensured everyone was safely back on the bus and took pictures for anyone who asked. Tino, our professional bus driver, was superb. Sherrie made it clear before the tour started and at each stop - YOU ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO MAKE ANY PURCHASES. No pressure in making purchases made the tour very relaxing and FUN! We had “quizzes” during our tour and won a special prize when the question was answered correctly. We visited the Bahamas Rum Cake Factory, Paradise Island/Atlantis Resort, the Cloisters (where a portion of Casino Royale was filmed), Fort Fincastle, Queen’s Staircase, Graycliffe Chocolate Factory (optional wine tasting across the street), and John Watlings Rum Distillery (best d**m pina colatas in the world). We were given the option of several return locations. Our group decided on the Fish Fry location; next to Junkaroo Beach, Frankie Gone Bananas. I personally was not impressed with the menu choices and the food was simply ordinary. I wasn’t overally impressed. We headed into downtown; about a 15-20 minute walk back to the ship. This was the BEST experience I have had in Nassau. This tour and my experience with Sherrie (HEY NEIGHBOR) has changed my views and perceptions of Nassau. Thank you Sherrie!!!
Karon was a great host and driver. He took us to see some of the highlights: Atlantis, taste of rum cakes amazing, teas, chocolates, rum distillery and the Queens Staircase - where we had a wonderful historian give us the history of the stairs. Also drove through a real neighborhood to see some of the reality. Enjoyed seeing a short snapshot of Nassau. Short enough for my 2 teenage sons not to be bored!
