This tour was really wonderful. We could had great experienced and enjoy day with private guide.
The guide was very professional and kindly took us great restaurants for breakfast and lunch. He was great know about golden rock histories and cultures which we want to know, we could get great memory and learning in Myanmar.
We highly recommend this tour for foreigner and really reasonable price as 1 day tour. Thank you again for great day trip with us.
Although this tour involves a lot of travelling 4hours driving each way We found in well worth it made particularly so by our attentive guide Kim who made sure that we had as comfortable a tour as possible She also made the journey more acceptable by pointing out points of interest

Long, long day trip from Yangon. We hired a guide Kim who had many delightful stories along the way. She was the best! The driver was focused on the road and quiet. Given the hours spent in the vehicle I strongly recommend the Viator tour. It seems pricey, but it's a fair deal. Air conditioned van with big comfy seats, water, towels. All entrance fees, all restaurant charges one going and one coming home and again, a guide, Kim, who knows the ropes and knows the stories, the history, the legends etc. She was fantastic.
Yes the ride up the mountain is a wild one! I really enjoyed it. Around sixty people jammed in the back of a truck other than the 2 of us, all Burmese on pilgrimage. I'd warn that half a dozen or so got motion sickness and all that comes with it. Just part of the experience. The Golden Rock itself is stunning, gravity defying, and it's scale is not done justice by photos. Views from the mountain are also beautiful. I'd do it again!
Great full day tour. Funny death defying experience on the open air truck up to the rock. Our driver thought he was a rally car driver though! Ha. With 50+ package on the truck his care factor was zero. The tour though and guide were great!
Our trip was amazing. Our guide, Kim, arrived early to pick us up. She was super friendly, well spoken English and very knowledgeable about Yangon and its history. We drove about 4 hours with one stop on the way to meet the famous local fish paste maker - interesting and a good photo opportunity. Kim was eager to share historical facts and answer our many questions about local life and Burma. Once we got to base camp, Kim arranged for us to sit in the front of the truck we sat in the back with the locals on the way back and it was a very different experience. I didn't believe the other reviews about the drive being like a roller coaster but I can now validate that is true. Not for the faint at heart but totally worth it. Golden Rock is beautiful. So many locals there with their families - on their own pilgrimage. If you have the energy, walk the extra 45 min to see the crows mouth for more local experiences. People were happy, and happy to see Americans. We stopped at the Mountain House for a delicious local lunch - great food, neat and clean and the best, most friendly service. Our car/van was clean, new and had good air con. Our driver, Tan, was very professional and safe. I would definitely recommend this full day experience. Don't miss it.
