We loved this tour, primarily because we arrived earlier than the crowds, our boat driver was friendly and keen to make sure we were looked after and we enjoyed our day.
James Bond island was smaller than expected but views amazing. Lunch was good but please explore to the floating market. We didn't and wish we had.
Hong Island is beautiful and you get there just as crowds are departing which is great.
Our tour was from Krabi which was great as the big tours come in from Phuket.
All round a good day, but not great if the weather is wet. Wish we'd had more fun but the tour company can't control that.
The day started right on time, we were taken by a minibus to somewhere near Phang Nga Bay, it was a rainy day on 28th Nov 2017. The whole trip was on a speedboat, it was about 12-14 of us not crowded at all and enough room for everyone, there were 4-5 guys for 14 of us.. the main guide was moosa and he was so much fun, always eager to take our pictures telling us poses, always smiling and very cheerful, others were friendly and caring too. It was my first day trip in Thailand and omg it was so cool, everywhere I looked I felt like taking a picture. We first halted just for a picture at these beautiful looking rocks, then at james bond island, then a spectacular location where we kayaked, then had food and then snorkelled at hong island where we saw some really pretty fishes, we were the last ones there so we had the whole island to ourselves. A Must do activity when in Ao Nang.
This was a very fun tour! We were often the first to arrive at places so it was nice to be there before the huge crowd. I don't know if it's always like that or if we were lucky though. The crew was very sweet too! When we stopped in a bay, one of the guys took the time to take a photo of each and every person who wanted one at the front of the boat with the background, on your own cell! I ended up with 5-6 pictures, angled a little differently and it allowed me to choose the best! The food at lunch was good buffet style and so was the fruit given on board in the afternoon! For the cave part, we took the option with the kayak, which was more like an inflatable canoe. If you expect to paddle and explore, think again! Each boat has someone there paddling for you though my friend got to paddle on the way back so if you want to tip, don't forget to bring it with you before leaving the speed boat!
Great tour! To see the amazing limestone cliff formations of Phang Nga Bay was one of our top priorities on a recent tour of Thailand, and this tour gave us exactly that. Floating around the lagoons of Hong Island a visit to James Bond Island a kayak tour lunch, then back to a beautiful sandy bay in Hong Island to swim in the sun for a couple of hours, and watch the patrolling komodo dragon.
It's a long day - c. 10 hours - but the guys were great fun, and whilst the approach to the bay takes a while 1 hour? the speed of the boat was exhilarating, and amply aided by the breathtaking scenery. Highly recommended!!!!
This was by far the best tour we did in Thailand. It was a small group of 13 people, the crew was extremely courteous. They served us water throughout the trip and great lunch. Hong ISland is gorgeous as is James Bond Island. This was a day well spent. Also, Phang Nga bay is out of this world. The crew members were very enthusiastic to help and would take pictures for everyone. Also, in order to access the islands, you will have to 600 Baht in total as National park entrance fee which is mandatory.
Look no further! I am so glad I booked this tour. This was the highlight of our trip. This tour operator (Krabi Discovery tour) is very well organized. The tour guides were professional, courteous, and has a great sense of humor. They took us too each scenic site at the best time. 5 stars!!
This tour was a complete safety hazard. It started with the van driver being angry that he picked up the wrong passengers at a hotel and had to double back. The error was 100 the van drivers fault for not matching up tickets. To make up for lost time, he drove at breakneck speeds on winding roads all while yelling at the office on his cell phone. He nearly hit a little girl walking on the road and a bicyclist. That was only part of the adventure. We were then placed on a tiny, very old one engine speed boat, not the big nice ones I have experienced on prior trips to the region. Most frightening of all? No lifejackets at all. On prior trips they were provided and everyone had to wear them when the boat was moving. This one had none. I will never again risk myself and my family on something such as this. I am happy to pay more for safety. Unfortunately, it is a blind booking with Viator meaning you have no way to research operator. We will see if Viator actually posts this review and follows up appropriately with the tour provider.
