On time pick up from hotel. Very comfortable bus. Asked our friendly guide who had very good English a few questions about tour and only then did we find out the details had changed. (Our original tour would have included Budva and guided walking tour) She informed us that this was tour she was given and would call her office for more info. That evening we learned that we had been booked on different tour in error. We were met at hotel on our return by a rep who apologized for error and offered ride to airport following day to compensate. Tour itself was good. We visited Our Lady of the Rocks for short visit, very interesting and worth the visit. Next was non guided stop at small island of Parast, lovely view but a bit of a waste to be honest. We only had time for very short walk and trip to bathroom. From there we took ferry to Kator which was amazing and interesting. I wish we had more time there as if interested in doing the climb up the steps to the fort, having lunch and shopping 3 hours is way too short. Again it was non guided. Service is painfully slow in restaurants. Shops are amazing with interesting unique items for sale. The return trip to Dubrovnik was quiet w no information from guide, guess she felt all were tired and she had said what she needed to share on way there. The Boarder crossing both ways was easy and quiet which I am led to believe it is not always the case so we returned to our hotel almost 2 hours early. If I were to visit again I would go straight to Kator and spend my time there, such a beautiful place.
The scenery was beautiful that we saw from the van window. There were many awesome viewpoints and it would have been nice to stop quickly to see. The guide provided an overwhelming amount of information at one time with no handouts or maps. Since I had not been at these locations previously it was difficult to relate to the information upon arrival at destination. I suggest providing to guests a handout, map and then verbally give ‘chunks’ of information to support with opportunity for questions. I asked about maps of the cities (Kotor and Budva) and she responded “left at home and no time to get.” So, then she should have walked Group to visitor center to get a handout and/or map.
A great tour. Our guide Eva was very knowledgeable and helpful. We had a good drive and Vladimir was very safe and considerate - keeping the vehicle cool for us after we returned from our outings. Perast, Kotor and Bravda were the stops with ample free time to explore. Eva made sure we were taken care of and advised us of everything we could need. Lunch restaurant was at Evas recommendation and was delicious and reasonably priced. I would recommend this tour.
We were picked up in a small minibus and taken along a beautiful coastal ride to Kotor. Along the way we made a couple different stops. One for coffee and another in a quaint small fishing village. We then proceeded to Kotor where we were given a short tour of the city and then had an couple hours of free time to eat and climb the walls.
First of all I did this tour on a Saturday morning in the month of July. We spent the first 1.5 hours picking up everyone at different spots. About 6 stops in all to pick up everyone. Didn't actually start heading towards the border control till 8:30 a.m. We made it through the border within 30 minutes which was great. spent 45 minutes in Perast; 1.45 in Kotur and 1.45 in Budva. All towns were similar in that they were filled with little shops and restaurants. In Perast you have either the choice to visit
Two stars just for Montenegro, that is a very beautiful country and people there were very friendly.
I arrived to the confirmed even by phone! pick up point and waited there for more than a half of an hour after the confirmed pick up time. After that a van picked me up and broungt to a huge touristic bus fully packed with people, where I was told that thier driver forgot about me when picking up others. There I also learned that my tour operator, without any notification for me, kicked me to their partner operator. No any luxury minibus, small-group or personalized experience promoted in their Viator description, just a huge bus full of people and about an hour to fully get the group of other forgotten guys.
When we finally started the tour, I also discovered that it was in both English and Spanish with all consequences of it. Very little information provided, and time needed to duplicate everything in Spanish.
Very little time for all stops, maybe because of initial mess with the group gathering. I would prefer to return later but have more time in each of 3 cities.
The van was comfortable and the tour guide knowledgeable Montenegro is beautiful and worth a trip from Dubrovnik. It is a long day. Our tour did not quite match the descriptions ( different stops and no guided tours) so you should check before booking so you know what to expect. We would have liked longer stops.
