The guide was very knowledgable on the Chu Chi tunnels and gave us excellent account of the history and what life was like in the American/Vietnam War. . His english and diction was very good.
The Mekon Delta portion afternoon had to many 'sales' elements and in hindsight was too short at a 1/2 day. Overall we had a very good trip and enjoyed it emmensely.
I would recommend a full day tour of Mekon Dekon Delta. 1/2 day for Chu Chi tunnels is sufficient.
Our guide was fantastic and very informative. We got to the tunnels nice and early so missed the major crowds. We enjoyed our snack of cassava root and green tea at the tunnels, it held us over until lunch. Speaking of lunch...absolutely amazing meal! We were served a whole fried fish and the server showed us how to wrap it in rice paper with all of the correct fixins. During our tour of the Mekong Delta, we were able to visit a bee hive where we got to hold one of the frames covered in bees, it was a really cool experience. Plus we were able to sample some of the products made from the honey. Everyone in our group really enjoyed themselves on this tour, highly recommend.
This was a fun tour, our guide was great and spoke English very well. He definitely does this tour and knew everyone along the way, making a smooth trip. He was very respectful in leaving us to eat and chat amongst ourselves without being pushy. This was a great day trip, I can be picky and this was a great tour...
Guide was very informative and took us on tour of tunnels and was very knowledgeable. Mekong was good but not much time spent on boat or canoe through canals too much time was spent going to islands to look a bees etc in the hope of you buying products. Lunch was huge and very nice. Held a huge python snake which was something I did to overcome my fear of snakes. If your wanting to see the Mekong I wouldn't recommend think you probably need a full day to see more but I was limited for time and combined the 2.
This trip did exactly what it said on the tin but not worth the money my family of 4 paid for it. You could do this trip much cheaper by booking locally. The time spent on the bus between HCMC, Cu Chi, My Tho and back to HCMC is around 6 hours. Sadly this is not disclosed on the booking page or we may have thought twice. Didn't help that our driver was late to pick us up and then got lost en route as well. Our guide was nice but her English was often hard to understand. They looked underwhelmed by the tips we gave them, I guess they weren't aware that we had already spent close to 350 on our day out with them!
