We enjoy this Cu Chi Tunnel tour a lot. Long was a great tour leader. We got a total different view of what happen in the war. If anyone got the opportunity to go to the war museum after the tour please go. I can recommend the tour to everyone. The only thing that was a bit difficult is that we must phone 24 hours in advance to arrange the pickup point. We got only a data sim and some use wifi only. our previous tour leader arrange for us.
The tour was run by one of the best and trusted local operators in Ho Chi Minh City. The pick up was right on time and the vehicle used to carry us to Cu Chi area was pleasant, clean, and properly air conditioned. Our guide was very well versed in the history of Vietnam and speaking English fluently
Well provided with modes of transportation. Our guide Huy was really funny and informative and equipped with lots of trivial information. Met lots of cool and fun people from different parts of the world really pushed for time as traffic in the afternoon at HCMC was horrendous but overall amazing experience
The Cu Chi tunnels is really interesting. You can see and experience crawling inside the tunnel. Furthermore, the Cu Chi Tunnels is already set up with adequate display, so you can understand the story behind the tunnels better. Going here alone without tour guide is difficult in my opinion, as there is not much explanation.
The tour guide knows well about the tunnels. Tour guide's English accent is not that clear, so you need to pay close attention when he is explaining. Unfortunately our group's tour guide was not really engaging not too enthusiastic. The tour guide is not bad, but not excellent either.
Overall, I recommend this trip. If you're lucky, you may get good tour guide, and everything will be perfect. If you are not lucky, this trip will not fail badly because the Cu Chi Tunnels itself is interesting especially if you like history.
Whilst the Cu Chi Tunnel precinct is well worth seeing, we were not impressed with the complete tour package. Recommend you look to a small group package or seriously consider taking cheap and easy public transport to the tunnels.
The tour guide was great but the tour group was far too big with 40 people for one guide.
We met at the designated office and had no idea why the bus was late and when it would arrive.in 10 minutes is all we were told and it came 35 minutes late which immediately put pressure on the itinery and poor guide.
It took 2.45 hrs to get to the tunnels after a stop at an art factory.
We had 40 people on the bus and 1 person wanted to shoot off 10 bullets in an AK47 so we lost another 30 minutes.
This may not sound much but this meant we had only 60 minutes at the tunnel site which was rushed and we not only did not see everything but the place was mostly closed because we were so late.
I got sick of the guide saying keep moving
The Tunnels themselves are extraordinary and we did not really see the whole complex which you would do with a smaller group or local site guide who help the main guide anyway.
Just seriously consider your other tour options as we honestly can't recommend this experience.
Excellent tour. Duc our tour guide was phenomenal as others will testify the same. funny humorous entertainingly fun and gets his facts right on history. i mean he even corrects our hitory as we got the cold war and american war wrong. hes on and off with cu chi tunnel and mekoong trip so i highly recommend him. gave him a hefty tips after his performance singing too.
they could have managed from tour to office better. i did request for pickup at my hotel. but the day before i found out their office was just 1 road down. so the next day i told the lady im here already and in the bus waiting 20min for them to find me ahaha
This tour involved a lot of waiting around at the start while the tour guide tried to figure out what on earth was happening. Then en route to the Cu Chi tunnels there was a stop at a lacquer 'factory' that wasn't even open. When we arrived at the tunnels the only information he was able to provide could have been read on the back of the brochure to the tunnels. Any questions that were asked of him he avoided answering - to the point where people didn't even bother asking anymore because he clearly didn't know anything. This tour was useful merely as a means of transport to get you to and from the tunnels. You get what you pay for!
