We did this tour on 31st May 2018 -
I had read the reviews for this tour and decided with Apprehension to book it before we arrived in Vietnam the cost was considerably less than suggested by our Travel Agent
Actually it was the only tour we booked ourselves, all our others were through Vidotours -- Vietnam, via House of Travel, Orewa NZ
The hotel pickup and drop off was easy and on time-
We picked up 2 other couples from different hotels on the way, they had both only booked the tour only the night before.
The tour was excellent with a great informative, funny, caring guide, James that made you feel relaxed.
I was travelling with my 86 yer old sprightly Mum - James made it easy for Mum, assisting her getting on and off the different boats
A great day with several Boat Rides, Entertainment and Lunch. A Fun Day had by All.
My husband and I really enjoyed this tour. There were only four couples so it was small and personal. The tour guide Viet Long was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and quite funny. The driver was responsible and even though it was a long day with lots to see we had a great time.
Thoroughly enjoyable day packed with treats. Very knowledgeable guide in Mr Vinh and the driver, Mr Thanh , kept us comfortable and safe. One of the best Mekong trips I've been on and I've been on a few !!.
This tour was fantastic. Our guide on the day was Long who was extremely funny and really made us comfortable. His knowledge of the area and of Saigon is vast and i learned more from him that i already knew. Thank you Long for making the tour into a lot of fun. You made our day. Food was good .
Ok to spend a day away from Ho Chi Minh City and to have a glimpse of the life on the Mekong.
The little tour of the canal on the small boat was particularly pointless, it was like being stuck in a traffic jam. Last but not least, it is very annoying that they ask tips for every activity: the singing, the canal tour, the restaurant, the lift to the restaurant with the cart....
1 tipping is not compulsory
2 if you have to tip for everything for what did we pay?
Too many tourists doing exactly the same thing at the same time: you have the feeling it is just a factory and nothing is authentic.
We thought we were going on a 2 hour cruise of the Mekong delta but instead we got a very tourist orientated commercialized look at 2 islands which was not at all what we had thought we were getting. The small boat section went for approximately 200m and then they asked you for money and it was basically in a ditch. It felt like a complete mash and we suggest avoiding it. Our guide was good but she couldn't save an awful itinerary.
