When looking for tours in Helsinki, there were lots to choose from, so I took a stab at it. This was an excellent choice, as the guide was super-friendly, her information was comprehensive, and we covered some really great parts of Helsinki. If they take you to a little place that smells like cinnamon, get the cinnamon roll. It's delicious. Be prepared to get some walking in on this tour, though. Especially since the fortress doesn't really have any vehicles to drive you around.
the tour covered a lot of locations, and the guide was very informative. but we could hardly have time to take photos or stop to really take a good look bcoz the tour was very rush.
young kids should not join this tour as it was quite a lot of walks, my kids all felt too tired in the island so we gave up to look around at the end.
Having Mini as my guide made this worth it! rather than solo touring She was more informed than expected and eager to pass on the knowledge complete with historical events, social and political evolution within Finland, and rarely told insights into Finnish culture garnered over the 7 odd years she has been living there. Of course, Helsinki itself and Suomenlinna are beautiful in themselves and steeped in the heritage and birth of modern day Finland - well worth a visit regardless of the season. I will be back.
The sight seeing tour was wonderful and our guide was just amazing. Knew everything and even sang for us at the concert hall and the Sibelius memorial. Very special. The difficult part was that the tour was cancelled at the last moment while we were traveling and we had to insist it be rescheduled as we had already paid weeks in advance. Viator should be sure this doesn't happen.
