Julio the guide was awesome! Cities were more than expected... wish we had more time. Bus seats were not comfortable, but the usb charger for each seat was nice. Spotty WiFi access on bus. Make sure to wear comfy shoes because there are plenty of stairs and inclines. I would do this again thru this tour company.
O ponto positivo Pienza que cidade encantadora, ponto negativo, muito tempo perdido nas degustações podia usar parte deste tempo nas cidades um exemplo não apenas parar na estrada em
Val d'Orcia ( frustante)
Every time I do a bus tour through Viator I end up spending most of my time on the bus listening to commentary and taking awful pictures through the window. I liked the guide immensely but there is just so much you can do when you have a bus full of people and limited amount of time. Because we had no real time to eat, I ended up getting very sick on the way back to Florence. The only thing I can say positive about this trip is that I saw some new countryside for the first time and met some very nice people.
This is a very long but immersive tour. The guides were great and knowledgeable about the regions’s history. If you only have one day to spare this tour will give it a lot to you. There are some short breaks to do a bit of shopping. But don’t dawdle!
We saw lovely scenery, everything was on time. However our guide had a very poor voice for the microphone: monotone, mike held too close to his mouth, many too many references to how good it was to drink wine all day, we did not often hear what he said in the back of the bus. Lastly, there many, many steps, high steps which are more difficult to negotiate and no help for those who had difficulty.
We were a group of five ladies there on holiday for a birthday. The tour guide was so nice and full of information. He made sure that everyone was enjoying the trip. Seeing the beautiful ountryside and strolling the hilltop towns made the day complete. The only thing I would change is stopping in a different town for lunch. We stopped in San Quinico d' Orcia and though a very cute town, very little choice for lunch when we stopped. Another option is buy the tour lunch. We did not as we wanted to walk around and take in the views. I would take this day trip again.
Went on this tour in mid-September of 2017. Very beautiful scenery, supported by some interesting facts from the tour guide, Brando. Just some suggestions for the tour company on this though - the group of 39 people was way too large. And there were multiple people that purposefully neglected to adhere to time deadlines set for the bus to depart to the next location. This was not the fault of the tour company or the tour guide, but was disruptive and disrespectful and unacceptable. The tour was set to last for 11-12 hours, but the price paid did not include lunch. The participants on the tour were to get lunch on their own - this would be chaos for 39 people, especially the ones that can't seem to tell time and return when told! Brando arranged for everyone to have lunch at the same cafe and took our payment which worked out OK. My two suggestions: drastically reduce the number of people on the tour so that a small bus can be used, and include lunch in the price which means the tour company would have to make lunch arrangements accordingly in advance.
