Julia was incredibly knowledgeable. We were very impressed with the stories she told, which kept us very engaged. You could tell she had a passion for her work and studies so we felt very fortunate to have a tour guide like her. Plus her English as perfect, which was not always the case on our other tours. It is a long tour, but as we thought about it afterwards, there really wasn't anything you could remove from the tour. Very very informative. If you have Julia you will learn a ton. Big win!
Long, but very fun day in Florence! We had a limited amount of time in the city and wanted the opportunity to see all the major things and not have to wait in line. Alla was our guide for the day and she was absolutely incredible. She was very knowledgeable and helpful and I walked away feeling like I learned a lot from her.
We started at the Uffizi. There was a long line outside but with this booking we only had to wait about 5-10 minutes. Alla was incredibly helpful navigating us through the gallery. We certainly didn't see everything but she selected really great pieces to show and tell us about. After a short break, we continued to a walking tour of the city where we saw the Santa Croce Basilica and learned a TON about the history of Florence. We then continued on to Accademia where we again skipped a much longer line. The Statue of David was incredible.
Wear comfortable shoes - this is a long day but very worth it!
One side note, the office for this company was tricky to find. The building was not well marked.
Julia was our tour guide and she was fantastic. She knew her history and explained it in an interesting way that kept our attention. This is a very long day with a lot of walking and it was very hot, but Julia kept a smile on her face and kept us smiling too. It really was a fabulous day, Can't say enough good about it!
The highlight of Florence was seeing The David. Stunning. I had a bit of trouble booking this tour. We of course wanted to have a half-day walking tour of the city and it sounded like we would be able to see the David. but the tour only allowed the David replica. Thank God I asked before leaving, so we upgraded and someone pulled some strings to get us included on the indoor tour of the Accademia. The your and our guide was great! So a word of caution about booking the correct tour!
Julia was our tour guide for the entire day - she was amazing. High energy throughout and totally knew her history. She shared the information in an interesting and easy-to-understand way. She was always upbeat. I was traveling with a teenager - this tour was perfect - focusing on the most important art and details. For example, in the Uffizi, Julia spent 15 - 20 minutes on various art works through the Medici reign, explaining in detail their significance and other background stories and theories. Santa Croce tour was also fantastic - Julia gave wonderful insight on all of the well-known figures buried in the Church. Seeing the statue of David in the Academia in person was incredible. Highly recommend this tour particularly if you have limited time to visit the Florence museums and/or are traveling with a teenagers. Julia was terrific - really appreciated her passion and care that we all walked away with a positive and informative experience.
Fantastic tour! We had two different guides throughout this tour and both were excellent. Bruce skillfully navigated our group through the Uffizi Gallery sharing back stories to provide good context to the artwork. He kept our two teenager boys interested and engaged. After the Uffizi Gallery, we had an hour break to quickly visit the gift shop and grab some food before beginning the second half of the tour. Our next tour guide was just as good at the storytelling as she guided us through a walking tour of the city. Our boys felt these were the two best tour guides on our trip because of how they shared the information in an interesting way. Our only tip would be to try to divide this tour into 2 days, if you have enough time in the city. Our second tour guide, Julia from Germany, noticed our decline in energy towards the end of the 6 hr tour which was not because of her in any way. We were just getting cold and tired. Overall, we highly recommend this tour!
