This was a fun excursion. Our jeep had an issue with the airbag and was beeping on and off the whole time. Our guide, Julio, was wonderful. Very attentive. We really enjoyed the Tequila tasting and the stop at the local place at a beach for drinks and fresh chips/salsa. The main beach where we had lunch was average. It was very rocky. The snorkeling along the shore wasn't that exciting so we paid extra to go out on a boat for an hour to snorkel. That was excellent and very reasonable. Julio had us back in plenty of time to get back on our cruise ship.
This trip is everything we hoped it would be! There were 6 of us - they had 2 clean jeeps waiting, stocked with bottled water. Our tour guide, Eric, was amazing... knowledgeable, fun, and accommodating. The excursion was customized to what we wanted to do. No one in our group had any snorkeling experience. Eric taught us ALL - he was very informative and concerned with our safety. No one entered the water feeling lost. Snorkeling was unbelievable - there were tons of fish and the water was beautiful. The food provided was fantastic. If you are considering this tour - I highly recommend it!
This was so much fun, especially when there was 13 of us. Julio was the best!! Right from the start, he was very welcoming and hospitable. He explained to us how and what the excursion was all about, and it was totally up to us as to what we wanted to do and the choices we had, along with what he had planned for us. The Tequila factory tour was a lot of fun too, and fun sampling all the different types of Tequila. The tour guide was very informative. After that, Julio took us to a local merchants where you can shop for souvenirs. Then he took us to another local stop where they fed us the best tortilla chips and salsa we've ever had. It was so fresh and delicious. We sat in a very comfortable are where there were tables and chairs, and hammock right by the ocean. We got some fresh coconut drinks. Then onto the next stop...Lunch and snorkeling. Lunch was so authentic, delicious and we had great food and drinks. After lunch, we got prepped for snorkeling. This is probably the ONLY negative part that I'm going to say. The snorkel guy guide was so rude, impatient, and was in a hurry. He even talked down to one of our friends as if she was a child, that the other people that were not in our party mentioned to him that he was very rude and disrespectful to her, and his response was I don't care. The snorkel part was very short and rushed. There were lots of fish to see, but we were swimming against the current the whole time. He should've have known to start us at a different part so that we could swim with the current. This would've been an easy adjustment/fix. The snorkel guy gets ZERO stars!!!! BUT, do not let this part of my review deter you from going...this was a great excursion. The jeeps were in great condition, not run down. I hope that you get Julio to be your tour guide. We had the BEST TIME!!!!
This was not near what I expected, even after reading many other reviews. First off, we had 5 married couples. They put us in Jeeps of 5 people each, so not only was one couple split up but three adults sitting in the back seat of a Jeep was very uncomfortable! The guide had very little to offer in terms of things to see and do. Everything had added costs. The only place we even went to was the Eco Park, which was an additional 14 per person. Other things we wanted to see was extra too. Whatever National Park Fee that was included in the price we did not even get to go to. The lunch place was mediocre at best. Chips and salsa cost extra. Drinks cost extra. They said you could replace beef or chicken with shrimp and they would ONLY just charge the difference. The difference was 10 for a small plate of fajita meat. The guide recommended buying from the shops where we ate lunch. He said they are more willing to bargain than by the port. Well, that's because they try to rip you off right off the bat! They wanted 25 for a little cheap necklace. We just walked away, only for them to come begging to make them an offer. We just kept walking back to the Jeep. The same necklace down by the port was only 6. This is a total upsell excursion. Everything is an added expense! If you could just hop in the Jeep and go check out Cozumel at no or minimal additional costs, I would not recommend this excursion.
