We had a great day on this trip with our guide Mohammed “potatoes”. He was very knowledgeable about the area, able to point out any highlights - including richard branstons hotel. We were picked up from our Riad and taken to the minibus. From here the first stop was camel riding which was excellent fun. From here we went on to breakfast of traditional bread with various oils, seeing how Argand oil is traditionally produced. We then continued our journey into the Imlil valley, stopping in the heart of it for a traditional lunch (extra cost of 75 dhr). Our guide then took us into the Berber village and served us mint tea in his home. We then explored the rest of the village before taking a scenic route back to Marrakesh with stops for photos and to watch the sunset over the desert. All in all it was a great trip!
This tour covers two major highlights: scenic hike to Imlil Waterfalls, and a camel ride in a mountain valley. Unfortunately the hike was terribly rushed with no time to appreciate the scenery. Most events were not announced before leaving the van, thus leaving the group unprepared (without water and warm clothing). The tour left an hour late, with more time wasted along the way.
This was an amazing tour, gorgeous fall weather with fabulous leaves and scenery. Such an authentic experience, including the food and hospitality in the home of our guide Mohammad (Potato) who was one of the best we’ve ever had, and we go a lot. Would be good to know that in order to fully enjoy the experience, be prepared for a good bit of up and down walking and climbing, that said our 4 year old had no problem with it. Really glad we did this tour!
What a brilliant day. We were blessed with clear blue skies and sunshine throughout the day. Our guide Mohammed Potatoes was brilliant from start to finish, from the pick up at the hotel to making sure everyone was catered for all day both in terms of the activities and food even the veggies amongst us to getting us home. Mohammed was like our own little human mountain goat, he also invited us into his family home for tea and snacks, the views from his house were to die for. His knowledge of the area, sense of fun and spoken English were great and made for a perfect day out. Would definitely recommend the tour and Mohammed Potatoes as a guide. Book before you get her to take the hassle out.
We took this trip on the 21/10/18. We were picked up on time by our driver together with two young lady travellers who were staying at our accommodation. Mark our guide was excellent. He was friendly, knowledgeable and very humorous. The whole day was a great experience from the camel ride to the walk in the mountains which though quite strenuous at times was well with the effort for the views and experience. Mark lived in the Berber village we visited and had lunch and was able to provide a real insight into Berber life. Our fellow travelers were great company and helped to make the day so memorable. Many thanks to Mark for all his effort, you are a star. We have no hesitation in reccomending this trip to others. It was a great day.Steve and Jan, Derby
