I booked this excursion while on a NCL cruise. the tour was advertised as 3 and a half hours. When I called to get information about the exact location, I was told that the tour was really five hours. This made it impossible to do. Make sure if you book this tour check with the vendor about the correct time, as the info on Viator was not accurate.
Dont book thru this tour company but definitely do this excursion! We waited for over 30 minutes for someone to arrive at their office and not only did no one show up but we never received a call back or email. We found out that this is not uncommon unfortunately with this tour company. Check out Kona Boys for the same tour - its a bit more but nothing substantial and definitely worth it. Lots of fish including a mana ray and sea turtle - easy kayak, good lunch and very helpful, courteous guides who made the trip easy and fun! Thank you Joe and Jake!
Jamal was amazing and educated us on the history of Captain Cook Monument and the protected bay in which we snorkeled. He also gave us lots of local travel tips for the rest of the Big Island! The snorkeling was perfect and a lot easier then I thought first timer Let me warn you though, the kayaking is no joke- Kayak 1.5 miles each way to get to the bay but definetly worth it!!!
Jamal was wonderful! Very knowledgeable about the area. He pointed out all the right things and the dolphins and the fish and the coral. We felt very safe with him. From start to finish he was wonderful! If you are going out on this experience, be sure to get Jamal!
My wife and I had a great time on this excursion. Dolphins swam in front of our kayak as we made our way to the snorkeling area, Jamal and Nova were great guides, providing expert guidance and knowledge of Hawaiian history and customs, along with advice on the use of a kayak. Fabulous time !!
