We usually love hop-on, hop-off tours to get us oriented with the city. However this tour was one of our least favorite. Route was extremely long where we spent more time stuck in traffic vs. seeing the city. Audio did not provide very much useful information and route did not pick up as often as they claim every 15-30 mins. I'd recommend the City Sightseeing Tour or there was a live guided tour that might be more enjoyable.
This was an excellent way of seeing the many historic sites in Berlin. The Hop On Hop Off bus service was excellent and the service was quick and efficient. We had a two day tour but on reflection we should have taken a three day ticket to give us even more opportunities to see all the sites. Heading to Copenhagen next and another Hop On Hop Off bus tour booked through Viator. Have used this company to book tours in many cities and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend this company.
Good overview of the city with 18 stops. The audiotaped narration is ok but cut and dry and cannot replace a live guide. Highlights of our stops were Charlies checkpoint stop 6, Neptune fountain/TV tower stop 9, and Brandenburg gate/Reichstag. The driver on our bus completely skipped stop 9 and stopped only at stop 10 which is fortunately only one block away so were able to come back since one can see the tv tower from across the street. Most drivers are generally unhelpful and some are quite rude. The Reichstag is a must see but one must reserve with an ID at least one day early,
I was completely and totally disappointed with the Yellow Bus tour. The staff on the ground were helpful as well as the drivers but the recordings were miserable and I leave Berlin with learning very little. As it turned out we were able to walk to most of the places and most upset that for summer they stopped the bus by 5:30 and 6 PM. The narration was off in describing the stops. It was hard to hear and understand the recordings. You had not time to snap a photo. The 1 Hour Boat Cruise had outside speakers blaring while you were given headsets to hear in your own language. It was so loud you were not able to hear the narration on your individual headsets. I gave up and took them off. For buying the 2 day pass with 1 hour cruise was overpriced for what we received. Two people recommended booking Viator for tours and unfortunately it was disappointed and as a Travel Consultant would not be able to recommend. Sorry as normally I would not submit such a review but the hop-on-hop off connected to Viator did not enhance my Berlin experience. We did far better roaming on your own.
