It was a fun trip, the guide was great, could have skipped the orchid/coconut farm stop. There wasn't much there to see. I would have rather had that time at the market. It's worth it to take the smaller boat once you get off the long tail boat. You won't get the full experience of the floating market if you skip that. It's fun being in the middle of all the action, and the shopping is better. It's an early morning trip and you're back to your hotel before noon, so you still have plenty of time to see other sights.
So many things went wrong with this tour. First of all, our Viator voucher said that the tour started 7:10 AM. We arrived at the pickup destination 7:05 AM, but the bus had already left. The lady at the front desk was in a not my problem, call Viator kind of mood.
After 1 hour of arguing, they finally sent someone to pick us up. The drive to the boarding dock is about 1:40 minutes. However, the driver was driving insanely fast we made it to the dock in 1:15 minutes. I honestly thought we were going to crash at some point.
Once we finally made it to the floating markets, we were deeply disappointed. First of all, the tour doesn't include the ticket for the actual boat that goes around the floating marked. So all this tour include is transportation to the ground market surrounding the floating market. You need to get an additional 150 THB ticket and wait for about 40 minutes to be able to get on a boat. Secondly, this market is ONLY for tourists. You won't get to see ladies selling fruits or food, it's only souvenirs.
We didn't get a chance to get on the bus until the return trip. It is a dirty and super-old bus.
