A 4 hour sunset tour turned into a fantastic six hour experience. Mainly because I was with a group of campers who were on a 2 day tour of the area. I wasn't expecting lunch but I was invited to eat with them for which I was grateful. The day started out sunny, but at the end of our hike to Kata Tjuta we were caught in a heavy rain shower which lasted for a couple of hours. Sadly their was no sunset view of Ayres Rock because of the rain, but amazing views of water cascading off the rocks at Kata Tjuta, which not many can say they experienced and the rain did lift for a little while for a few photos of Ayres Rock complete with rainbow. The tour guides were friendly and experienced and a fantastic time was had.
