Two of us took the Austin in a Nutshell Bike Tour on Apr-14-18 and LOVED it. Our guide Cody Rodgers was awesome super friendly, and knowledgeable. We thought the tour was a great way to see the city and especially get an appreciation for the fact Austin and it's climate, really lends itself to an outdoor and active lifestyle. Being on this tour, I felt as though I was a local enjoying a beautiful Saturday morning.
The tour winds its way through a portion of Barton Springs and Zilker Park then rolls along the river, over to downtown and up to the State Capital Building. Cody had stops planned along the way for photo ops and a bit of history/city information -- we really enjoyed these stops and felt we learned quite a bit we would otherwise have missed.
Our favorite parts of this tour: Meeting Cody and Shortythe resident dog at Barton Creek Bike Rental, the stop at the Bat Bridge, riding along the boardwalk, the Ai Wei Wei sculpture, the capital building and the outdoor graffiti park. Please note that it's our understanding the Ai Wei Wei sculpture is a temporary installation and the graffiti park is on private property slated for development -- get there before you miss these great sites!
