Dear Viator,I have filed a complaint against the local operator "Grayline" concering this tour in Abu Dhabi but haven't received any feedback from you. I'm really disappointed and decided not to use your website again while planning my upcoming trips.in case you've decided to care and check my previous complaint please get back to me.Thank You,Abeer El-Sayed
If you are just visiting the area for a day or two, and appreciate modern architecture then a tour of Dubai if right for you, and/or you like doing one-of-a-kind things, like visiting the tallest building. This tour does just that. The modern buildings and some of the technological advances are definitely worth hearing about. We shopped the spice souk, it was really fun and we bought lots of spices and dates! The gold souk was something to behold, but totally out of my budget! I would say it is worth visiting, if you are in a close proximity then go.
This tour was not what was advertised via Viator. It was an audio tour of Dubia. this is not what was advertised. We were escorted into a carpet shop and made to listen to a sales pitch. It was a small mini bus with no wifi as expected we didn't see the Grand Mosque of Jumeirah, we and the only other tour participants were all looking forward to the Spice Souk but we were told by the driver that this was not on the itinerary and even though we all wanted to go there we couldn'ty as the audio tape didn't allow for this in the prerecorded commentary. The 2 hours in the shopping mall consisted of 45 minutes as our other travellers had to be back at their hotel for a flight so we had to travel back early too! The advertised and promised lunch was also not provided. We had eaten a scant breakfast pick up 8am and we were very much looking forward to lunch but even though the tour guide acknowledged that our documents clearly stated lunch, he couldn't do anything about it as it wasn't included on the tour we were on. He did try several times to ring head office but each person he talked to told him to tell us 'no lunch will be provided'.
All in all a very disappointing tour and somewhat a waste of a day. We sat in a small mini bus for most of the day getting quite bored with commentary. The main stop was to sell us carpets and the things promised, such as lunch never materialised. The Burj Khalifa tower tickets were provided and we did see the 124th floor. This was the only bit of the trip that lived up to expectations. Not recommend.
Our tour guide suggested we complain as he acknowledged that the details we had for the tour were not for the tour he was told to provide us. Our other Australian four ladies also were to complain. However after much clicking I can't find how to complain about this trip other than leaving this review :
Our driver was nice and great. he picked us up ontime and drive safely. though his English is really hard to understand, he is trying to communicate with us.
the only bad thing is, on schedule and what include saying that Abrar boat ride is included. but no we didn't get any boat ride. the driver said it is not included.
Driver tried to clear it up with his office but nothing came out ! we didn't get our money reimbursed or nothing !
Shame on the boss !
Terrible experience. Late picking up from hotel in morning after several calls to confirm, as told to do, and no one called back. Nothing to eat or drink until after 3:00 pm, though driver had large bottle of water for himself. Made a couple of unlisted stops on way to Dubai, but were told to get out and we had five or ten minutes with not much around. One place we went inside and a man tried to sell us very expensive rugs, that I'm sure the driver would get a kick-back from. Lunch, however after 3:00 was very good at Dubai mall. At end of trip driver refused to take one couple back to their hotel. They got off with me a two blocks away from my hotel because he was clueless. He told them it never said in any literature that they would be dropped back off at their hotel. I'll be curious to see if this review actually makes it online or will Viator pull it. Another friend went on this tour several days later and they also had a bad experience.
This whole experience is more like a drive by tour because every stop is so short. It was just enough time to get off the shuttle and take a picture. There was no walk around time for the souk. Most importantly, confirming the tour was time consuming and even after confirmation, we still got drop off at a mall instead of back at the hotel. The driver barely speaks any English. I don't recommend it for anyone.
The tour driver was late 30-40 minutes, the tour guide Muhammad took us to his shopping, evidentially he was getting a profit from, isolated, and captive to sales practices and prices were 4-5 times what we saw at others and took our tour time. The route and schedule was changed several times, never the same story on schedule. Time wasted could have been time at world tallest building, etc. We were rushed the whole time.would not recommend
