Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art

The Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale (MoaFL), founded in 1958, is housed in a building designed by noted American architect Edward Larrabee Barnes and was completed in 1986. The Museum has played host to famous traveling exhibitions, ranging from Diana: A Celebration, to Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs.  It is well known for its Artist in Residence Program, which is acclaimed for broadening the scope of contemporary art.

The Museum’s incredibly international collection consists of more than 6,000 works. The collection strongly reflects the artistic expression of South Florida and Caribbean culture. The museum showcases prominent works by the American artist William Glackens, by the artists of the famed northern European CoBrA movement, and by modern Cuban artists. Visit the museum and attend on the many lectures, concerts, plays, films, and other activities hosted in the versatile Norma and William Horvitz Auditorium. The Miriam and Bernard Peck Sculpture Terrace on the second floor also provides about 2,800 square feet (260 square meters) of space for lovely sculpture installations.
